Our History

 

1995 - Great Lakes Metal Stamping, Inc. was founded by Keith Hettig, and got its start in a shared building, located in St. Joseph, Michigan.  There the company grew from two employees and one press line to fourteen employees and three press lines in just four years.
 

 

 

1999 - Construction begins on our Bridgman, Michigan location. 
 

 

 

2001 - Great Lakes is already outgrowing its new facility, requiring an addition to the building just two years later!

 

 

2007 - Great Lakes Metal Stamping, Inc. builds a second stamping facility, located in Cusseta, Alabama.  The new 35,000 Sq. Ft. facility adds three presses and twenty employees to the Great Lakes team.  We now maintain eighteen press lines along with welding & assembly operations in two locations.

Our People

GLMS has grown from a “one man” operation to our current 100+ size through careful growth, diligent hiring practices, essential training, excellent wages & benefits, and a safe working environment. We look forward to growing with you.
